This photo was captured on Iceland’s southeast coast during a torrential rainstorm; heavy rain, strong winds, and the kind of conditions where you protect your camera first and hope the sky gives you a break. I hiked out to the black-sand beach, waited it out, and the rain eased just long enough for me to line up the shot.
